Spanish “Immersion”

It’s hard to speak Spanish here. I’ll be honest—you don’t need it.

Raising a billingual kid in your non-native language

This blog is meant to document my experiment in raising a bilingual child. There are many different scenarios that multi-lingual families find themselves in. Our is this: both my husband and I are native English speakers and that’s what we speak to each other. I speak to our daughter 99% of the time in Spanish with my non-native fluency. My husband speaks to her in English, but has studied Spanish and understands quite a bit.
