Then & Now: Audio

Language is here. I’ve started recording Bilingual Baby and her babbling. It’s a much less intrusive way of documenting and sharing her language development.

I’m leaving you with two recordings: one from 15th months old and another from today, at 20 months old so you can hear the language explosion that took place over the last 5 months.

At 15 months she was just repeating sounds over and over, experimenting with how to form them, how they sounded coming out, and how they felt rolling off her tongue. This recording is from the car while she was in the back seat in her own world.

At 20 months she can follow a lot of my instructions and repeat words after me and name things that she sees in a book.

Because most of her input is in Spanish, most of the language she’s producing is also in Spanish. It’s working!
